Kirsty Erskine-Hill

Since graduating from University, I have had a solo exhibition in the cotswolds. I have continued down the same path with my art work. My paintings concentrate on the reflections of wooded and rural areas in water. I enjoy the way the light bounces off the surface of water, distorting the images reflected in it, and find the intensity of the light when it does this fascinating. My paintings are more about the creative process of the work and the aesthetic beauty of the finished piece, and less about the original subject used. After an initial layering with acrylic paint, I moves on to use oils and various mediums to create a range of different effects, giving my paintings ever increasing depth and intensity of colour.
